Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM)

IETM is a structure of interlinked technical data intended for interactive viewing of reference and descriptive data on operation and repair works related to a particular item.

Class 2 IETMs are the soft copies of documents organized in linear structure.

IETM of this class represents a text compilation in SGML format. IETM table of contents contains references to the respective sections of technical manuals. IETM may contain cross links, tables, illustrations and links to audio and video files. Search option is also provided. IETM may be viewed or printed out without any additional conversion.

IETM purpose:

1. Providing personnel with reference information on structure and operating principles of technical assets
2. Providing personnel with reference information necessary for operation, maintenance routine and repair of technical assets
3. Providing personnel with information about procedures of any operations with equipment and the requirements of tools and materials.

IETM may be used for:

2. demonstration
3. reference.
